GDP Case Study : ASDA

The Company contracted us to assist in making Asda a more inclusive workplace. During the project’s implantation, feedback and commitment was strong enough for Asda to extend this project to the design of a flagship store in West Yorkshire. They were keen to ensure that the environment internally mapped the needs of their diverse customer base. We advised them on the layout and presentation of the store, as well as signage and product range.

We also provided information on how to promote inclusivity amongst staff. This included re-designing uniforms and training on promoting better workplace relationships. We also advised on canteen provision and the creation of a prayer room the diverse religious groups employed by Asda. The prototype was very successful in terms of attracting a diverse workforce. On top of this, by introducing a diverse product range and demonstrating awareness, Asda experienced an increase in revenue from the diverse customer base attracted to shop in its local stores.

This project has since gone on to be implemented as the worldwide model for inclusive working environments.
