GDP Case Study : The Disney Corporation
The contract was to design and deliver four toolkits for HR business partners in Disney Europe. The documentation that was being designed in house was from the US Operations. This information whilst valuable did not take account of the issues within Disney in Europe. Therefore this project was established.
The Human Resources Director wanted to ensure that the business partners had the appropriate capability to work alongside the heads of business units within Disney. It was important to have credibility in relation to the subject matter to meet the challenges diversity was beginning to bring to the business as well as reap the benefits.
The toolkits were designed after a familiarisation process of current Disney policies and procedures was undertaken. The toolkit then covered the challenges and solutions Disney were encountering with best practice case studies.
The entire HR function was then trained in diversity awareness. The programme was designed to provide information on the business legal and organisational case for Diversity. The toolkit was then launched and has been extremely well received and effective in assisting the European HR function to work effectively internally and externally with their key stakeholders on HR issues.
