GDP Case Study : London Underground Limited

Our team has experience of running an innovative and transformational Learning Contract for LUL. The contract was for the development of the ‘Managing Diversity Competence’ Project. Initially the contract was to deliver a pilot equalities programme for the service control managers within LUL. The project included developing a diversity and change management competency framework; designing a 360 degree questionnaire; undertaking a comprehensive training needs analysis; designing a bespoke training course; coaching each service control manager and carrying out a full evaluation to level three of Kirkpatrick model .The contract was delivered to the Equality Champion of LUL.

As a direct result of the success of this programme our Director of Learning and Development was awarded a further contract for a similar contract for the top 52 managers within LUL. All 52 managers including the COO have attended the training and also taken part in a coaching process. This project has mapped all the elements of the service control pilot and has contributed to cascading the responsibility for progressing the diversity agenda within LUL.

Delivering this project has increased familiarisation with the transport sector and diversity issues within it and contributed to organisational transformation within LUL. The training is now being rolled out to across LUL over three years to all middle and first line managers.
